Theme for 2015Each year a theme is selected for CLEAR WORD CONFERENCE. The focus for 2015 was to study the tension between suffering and blessing, persecution and favor, martyrdom and deliverance. Conference founder and host, Terry R Baughman introduces the theme.

Conference KeynoteDuring the time when we were praying for the direction of this conference, the world was shocked with the graphic video of the martyrdom of 21 Egyptian Christian on the shores of the Mediterranean Ocean. They were identified as “The People of the Cross, the followers of the hostile Egyptian Church”
The teaching of the Beatitudes (that passage of pronounced blessings) concludes with these verses, "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you" (Matthew 5:10-12). The irony of being blessed by persecution is so difficulty for us (Americans) to understand. We have enjoyed many decades being in a society of a Christian majority and the “blessing” of cultural acceptance. Now all that is changing ... |
